About Wendy
Wendy Smith is a licensed clinical social worker (LSCW) with more than a decade of experience specializing in parent/child, individual, and couples work. In her practice, she applies a variety of therapeutic techniques, helping patients explore their feelings and their personal histories to become more aware of themselves.
She began her career as an early childhood teacher and then went on to earn her master’s degree in social work. She continued her field training, earning state licensure while working with emotionally-impaired children and their families in a classroom environment.
After becoming a mother, Wendy’s passion for helping children and families deepened. She opened a private practice where she has spent the last ten years working with children and adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Wendy continues to grow as a therapist through ongoing continuing education and training with other professionals. She completed a two-year program, the PPC, at the Florida Psychoanalytic Center and is an adjunct member of the organization. In addition, Wendy volunteered at A Home Within, where she provided psychotherapy services to children in foster care. She has also facilitated support groups for parents of children with special needs.
